Michigan Center for Advanced Psychology Training
Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Health Psychology
The Michigan Center for Advanced Psychology Training (MICAPT) provides a two-year postdoctoral fellowship experience in clinical health psychology with an emphasis on medical education as part of a robust Graduate Medical Education program at McLaren Flint. The fellowship is primarily housed within the Department of Family Medicine and Mclaren Flint, which is an engaging and dynamic system with opportunities for membership on committees, development of new services lines/curricula, and promotion of professional goals. Fellows gain clinical experiences in hospital consulatation-liason services, integrated primary care, multidisciplinary teams and group visits, psychosocial oncology, and outpatient assessment and psychotherapy. Fellows are also involved in teaching behavioral medicine and other clinical skills to medical students and residents through formal didactics, as well as case based interactions and discussions. Additionally, opportunities exist for scholarly activity and most of the fellowship faculty are actively involved in current research, quality improvement, or program development activities.
